I don't think I'm keen on two teams merging solely for the purpose of gaining entry to the NCL , I'd prefer that both build from the ground up over a period of time the same way that the more successful clubs in the NCL have done .

I'd hate for one club to disappear never mind two when they find that the grass isn't always greener over the divide in their search for their mythical holy grail of NCL membership .

That's a bit to deep and meaningfull even for me .

I wasn't aware there was a race on to get another team in quickly - and that it would have to come from Warrington.

At the time of application, neither Bank Quay Bulls, Warrington Wizards or Rylands met the NCL criteria and clearly either of these clubs can only think of applications in the future - but not now.

We will see, watch this space.

Carlsberg don't do Soldiers, but if they did, they would probably be Brits.<div align='center'></div>

Not at all, i've said on a variety of other threads that we'd love to have more St.Helens teams in the NCL. I'm made up that Pilks have successfully applied. Blackbrook's players, committee and most influentially coach have no desire whatsoever to join the NCL.

I've seen it claimed elsewhere that they're now in negotiation with the NCL. The massive weakening of the NWML may have tipped things.

They've entered their A team there yes. Their first team would destroy everyone though so would be farcical.

I've been told by a very good source that Blackbrook will be officially confirmed in the NCL next week.

You deeply underestimate the regional leagues Bowes and how do you know that the stay away players from the NCL will not want to play in the winter and looking at how first teams this summer have had to be propped up by 2nds and youth players it could tell a story a become an option - before you go on look at how many of the RLC champions built a side so tyell me why it could not work in reverse?

I don't underestimate the strength as the NWCL is that bad bar a couple of sides (though no idea how strong Dalton are as every game has been called off for them). Plus the winter league hasn't exactly been strong this year even with a Blackbrook team in.

Also the RLC ran a short season otherwise it would have been impossible. As it is it left a ling trail if dead clubs with no roots. You seem to conveniently forget the seasons of spring and autumn when both seasons are underway.

Why wouldn't they? Could be an email vote like with Dewsbury Celtic.

Right so the big difference is the clubs who have chosen to go back to winter do have roots where the fabricated RLC clubs didn't and lets not forget the standard of the teams in the 1st years of the RLC (THEY IMPROVED) and if teams like Derby could attract a Hull based BARLA hooker and probably several more players from Hull why can't these mere morsals attract the disgruntled NCL players.

You simply forget human nature, If a summer player with a club thats not winning anything plays in the winter with a club that is winning I know where the player will play until the season has finished - for some reason you can't seem to grasp that all that has created with the switch is reverse engineering.

Well I'd have thought the clubs would have debated the pro's and con's between themselves.

I hope this is right, but I have a feeling this is so far off the mark it is untrue. It would make a mockery of the applications process in my opinion!

If they opened a 2nd round of applications generally so the likes of Walney Central could apply as well if they so wish it might be fairer? Some clubs may have declined to apply first time round as they expected NWML to stay the same teams?

I would have thought that the NCL committee would look at other aplications if it strenghthens the NCL league competition.

The leagues are well off been organised for next year.

If you take note what Marauder thinks there will be that many teams leaving they wont have enough teams to have 4 divisions.
