Now Cumbria's worst RL club have announced Dave Woods as their coach, no doubt he will be the latest messiah but he will almost need to be to sort them out.
Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't he apply last time but was overlooked in favour of poor old Bishop? Didn't he also state on premier sports that you couldn't have the travellers training seperately from the locals?? Didn't the Bish also want this to happen but the board didn't back him allowing the travellers their way??? Does this now mean Doran and his buddies won't be signing on for next season or will they be exempt again????
The fun never stops at the circus down the road does it, good look Dave you'll need it!
The race is not always to the swift nor the battle to the strong, but thats the way to bet!

It's gonna take more than ' pride and passion ' I'm afraid after watching them . And as we know he doesn't seem to hang around to long and does seem to get involved in bust ups now and again.... Just what they need!

He had a squad full of stars at Castleford and had heaps of money at gateshead and with york had a decent team(and he didnt do too well there) ...lets see how good a coach he is with no money and a ###### team....

I wonder if Doran will hang around after his comments about Aussie coaches!

If they start playing up with this coach like they did with Harold there'll be fireworks ... You don't mess with Woodsy !!
Crucial is the board backing him like they said they would Harold , and we know the reality there. So they're gonna make his job easy or hard . Let's see who's gonna hold the whip- players or coach ?

Poor choccy is getting all excited again now they have a new "world class" coach.

welcome onboard dave heres hoping everyone gets behind you and you build a team to resemble our grand final years

Some hope, but also funny that the best they can remember is when their team "nearly" won something

To be fair to Dave Woods there is at least some record of his coaching career especially here in the UK which is more than could be found about Gailer.

After being sacked at Gateshead over financial irregularities he moved on to York where he joined them when 5th in the league and they went on to win the Championship 1 play-off final against Oldham. His record at York was won 14 drew 1 lost 20 and he was sacked from there because of travelling difficulties!!!!!!!!!

I remember when .............................

"It is impossible not to feel a twinge of sympathy for Workington Town, the fall guys this season for the Super League's determination to retain it's European dimesion, in the shape of Paris. While the French have had every assistance to survive, the importance of having a flagship in a heartland area like West Cumbria has been conveniently forgotten." - Dave hadfield - Independent 25th Augsut 1996.

the person posting as robstone denies he is choccy. Says he lives away and he is not choccy. Sounds very much like choccy in his posts to me lol

Quite a number of people have said that it is choccy. The style of his messages and the bitterness towards Town shine through every time.

Choccy/Robstone is a classic keyboard warrior and they always give the game away by resorting to their old style of posting not long after returning to a forum . Idiots like him are quite easy to spot.

As an outsider looking in I am starting to think that you guy are 100% obsessed with Haven . I also believe some of the Haven fans are to obsessed with Town no one knows what sort of team Both clubs will have next year Woods might bring some quality players in he might not same as Town we just don't know. Like the rest of us fans you will just have to wait and see what next year brings . Up the Dews
