I,ve been talking to supporters who no nothing about the meeting .There as been nothing printed in either the Men or the advertiser so how are fans going to know about the meeting .Not everyone has access to the internet and yet fans need to be told .Get your finger out Swinton and get some info in the press, I don't want the room to be empty on the night !

Funny you should mention it, but only a couple of days ago, I emailed both of the above so-called "newspapers", providing them with the link to access the page on the club's website announcing next Thursday's meeting at Swinton Legion - not that I think they'll take a blind bit of notice of what it's about.

Come to think about it, media, communications, newspapers etc, I think I'll put myself forward for "Town Crier" on Swinton precinct and outside the town hall.

"Oyez! oyez! Be it known forthwith that a publick meeting to take place at Swynton Legion next Thursday night..."

I do appreciate what you are saying Glenngarry, however whilst not in the papers it has been extensively advertised on both Swinton people and Swinton Lions pages on Facebook via Kozzie and Sarah Trace. I accept not everyone has Facebook but feel free to join, after all it has produced at least 8 new spectators this year alone.

It's also worth noting that as well as encouraging new fans promotion on social network sites has also sold copies of Steve Wilds boom and of the sixties replica jerseys. It just shows what can be achieved with very little effort.

At best we can hope for confirmation of the home venue for 2013 and an announcement that a planning application either has been made immediately before the meeting, or is imminent.

JK was very confident that planning permission would be put forward in 3-4 weeks after the "first meeting", which is next Wednesday.

Right again then, eh?

Let's hope I can give an equally confident prediction of much more substantive progress and be proven right this time next year.
Rugby League - great game, shame about the administration.

Julian - I can't see anything on this thread which constitutes as 'name calling or finger poking' :)

We can all disagree with Phil, but the thing is, he usually ends up being proved right and I'm pretty sure if it was up to him, Agecroft would be built tomorrow.

Went past Wardley last week, now a building site with a new school going up..... at least the site will see some positive use for the first time in quite a while, but without question they ought to be building a new stadium!!

Phill H is Mystic Meg!

Do it Phill! If the app goes in, in 3-4 weeks as JK said, I expect another prediction as to when the Stadium will be up and ready.

The problem is....that's a VERY big "IF"!

The new stadium "IF" it ever gets built should have been built on the wardley site not agecroft, as for planning permission going in where are the plans???, i'm sure me and many others would love to see them "IF" they exist.

Good to see some positive responses on here as usual!!!!!!!
Perhaps the Club should just carry on not telling us anything at all until the rampant lion flag is raised at the top of the stand at Agecroft!

Come on guys....if you were at the meeting last night you will have seen how positive everything was. Granted that we've heard some of it before and it could all still go knockers up but at least it wasn't JK saying "That's it I'm off!"

...and if you filled in your details on the forms available last night it was said that you will be sent information regarding any news. If you weren't there then I presume you can send your e-mail address etc through to the Club at swintonlions@hotmail.co.uk and they'll add you to the list.

Yes i agree Paul.
The club are now trying to make every effort to keep the fans informed on things that are going on with the club. There are a few people on here hell bent on bringing the club down and whatever is done it just does not seem to be good enough for them they just have to poke the stick in.

COME ON. Get behind the club and if you didn't fill in a form last night please send your name , address, phone number and email details to Ryan at the club so we can all get regular updates.

Well said Paul.
As for the email thing in 2011 I and I presume lots of others got weekly emails from the club and Chris brierley. Didnt happen in 2012. I guess they should still have those email addresses.
I presume as well though that I can get my updates on predicting the obvious from Phil.
I didn't go last night I had a long standing date with some big rough men.
I guess Phil and Julian attended to raise their long held doubts and questions in person?

No, he definitely said 3-4 weeks and that's exactly what I meant to say.

This is the point where you can get behind the club. JK promised an update in September and he's given us that much. He also read out a statement receive from the council. 3-4 weeks is not unreasonable to sort out the application.

Phil will also be pleased to know that there was much more accurate timeframe for approval of 3 months. If we have the financial backing and the application does go in, then there is a very good chance that it will be approved.

Mark, please keep your personal life to yourself, "Big rough men" indeed lol.
Just read the comments and i guess it boils down to you can't please all of the people all of the time.

No doubt there will be some very big smiles on here from one or two if the stadium project doesn't happen.
