Carlsberg don't do Soldiers, but if they did, they would probably be Brits.<div align='center'></div>

I've reffed them 2 or 3 times. Their kit is very nice.
Wouldn't put too much money on them beating Moorends A.

Jim - any idea what's happened to Dodworth? They've already had 2 no-shows and no game this week.
The problem with the Barnsley area is that the same players rotate round the clubs and there's only been Hoyland in the last few years generating any juniors, and they now only have one junior team. Dearne Valley have started U11 and U12 and although that will take 5-6 years to bear Open Age fruit it's the right way forward rather than starting at U15/U16.

Struggling by all accounts. 13 men away at Brotherton and then not able to raise a side for West Craven and Illingworth at home. I've also heard rumours of the coach quitting due to lack of committment.
Shame, decent club, nice ground. The problem obviously is juniors but it will take a lot of hard work to convince kids to ditch the round ball and try rugby. Not impossible, as your club has demonstrated, but very difficult.
In my experience there is actually very little movement around Barnsley when it comes to players. Maybe a couple have switched between Dearne/Hoyland and maybe Dodworth but I think it's much less of a problem in South Yorkshire than say Huddersfield or Bradford, where players flit from club to club on a regular basis.

If they are struggling that bad it's a shame, they could be a lot better on the field if they trained and stopped the silly stuff (I think they think they are still in the 80's at times) they do have a few good players in their squad but getting near their sell by date.Jim - any idea what's happened to Dodworth? Yes, I noticed! So nothing doing for Cowling this week then?

I'm not sure what the situation is with the first team this weekend, so far between 8 and 10 2nd team players have been making the numbers up because of injuries and holidays.Yes, I noticed! So nothing doing for Cowling this week then?

We played dodworth early on last year and they were their usual tough physical selves at home and we toughed out a win. Played em at home and they have hardly any of their better players and nilled them. Shame cos they had sone good players in forwards.
We got a big derby against west bowling this week. Hopibg to be fit to return after missing moorends and st joes games
