I would honestly like to see both dewsbury and batley right at the top end of the table. It would be great for our area.

I'd prefer Dewsbury near the top and Batley near the bottom to be honest.

Same here, except I'd like to see them at the bottom, not near.

Not going to happen us it though in fairness.

Unless you've got a few major signings in the pipeline I think your going to struggle to overtake us next year based on current squads.

Hope for the sake of local rugby you guys have a better season and certainly don't want to see you at the bottom, but can't say the whole rivalry thing is that important to me. Our ambitions are to try progress into a top 3 club next season.. What happens at Dewsbury is pretty much insignificant apart from our 2 league encounters.

He means that the northern rail cup was your first in 80 years, but the majority of your fans were saying that you were going to win trophies this year, be it one or the double, I know a few batley fans with that attitude

Be fair, trophy or no trophy they've had the type of season we can only dream about at the moment. Our turn will come round again, but credit where its due.

One of the differences next year will be that they have re-signed their better players and pinched most of ours, while so far we have signed on what's left plus a few wakey kids and coleman. It is going to take a few very impressive signings to get anywhere near them next year as things stand. Fingers crossed that GM has something up his sleeve.

Here here to that GOR.
I really dislike all these games of musical chairs at the end of each season, and hanker after a time when things were more stable, but I know this won't ever happen again. The players are in control of their own destiny these days, and will go where the rewards, and/or the likelihood of success are greatest.

Two teams battling out at the top of the division would certainly seem preferable to fighting for the wooden spoon. So far Batley's recruitment has been far superior to ours even if some of that was only down to retaining existing players. There is still plenty of time to get new players on board - the playoffs haven't finished yet and Kevin Sinfield might just like a new challenge.

As far as I'm aware, despite JK being erudite and gnomic, he still hasn't found a way of having more than 13 of his players on the pitch at any one time, leaving him the usual difficult balancing act between strong squad and happy players individually.

GM starts from a fair way back but will bring new ideas as well as players and will be planning for the medium term as well as just one season. Let's be patient and see what santa brings us, eh?

I'd like to see the Rams near the top of the Championship and Batley in Champ 1 to be honest. Its nothing personal and I know many of our fans wouldnt agree, but its just the way I was brought up.

Well I think I quite agree with this, then again if they were at the bottom they would be relegated to champ 1.
