Buddy Holly is missing and I think he's very underated as a guitarist. Brian Jones isn't here either.
There was a bee-bop guitarist who played with Bird and Dizzy called Charlie Christian who was reallly something too.

There was a bee-bop guitarist who played with Bird and Dizzy called Charlie Christian who was reallly something too.
they are not there because they are not amongst my favourites. I don't enjoy Hollyu's and Jones' playing as much as I enjoy the others: the thread is about our favourite dead guitarists

Spot on,how a guy with a 22" waist could lug a heavy les paul around and make it look so easy.......I own 2 Gibson Les Pauls a 78 Goldtop and a 79 silverburst custom and just sold a 79 silverburst vEnjoy...

I always remember an interview with Hendrix (some 60's pop show) where he was asked 'what's it like being the worlds greatest guitarist?' to which he answered 'why are you asking me, you should be asking that to a guy named Rory Gallagher'.I missed rory off first time around .
