Yes indeed. Was looking at his stats last night , 168 tries I think . Fantastic stuff . First season I remember as a young un was the season Johnny Jones scored 31 tries in 31 games . He was my first town hero , another classy centre. Great memories and many great players at that time when a golden era was drawing to a close.

I'm sure when i was a youngster it was ian who got two late trys at home to blackpool borough when we were 0-8 down and we won 10-8.

Well deserved for a player who was at town for over a decade, though before my time so I can only sort of remember seeing him as a kid.

The Wright/Risman centre partnership was a great mainstay of the Town team in the 70's and they were a perfect combination. John Risman was tough as teak and tackled as hard as anyone who's ever played the game, while Ian Wright was very quick and was silky smooth with a natural flair for scoring tries. Congratulations to Ian on his induction into the Hall of Fame.

A good night was had by all and "Mr Quiet Man" Ian Wright actually made a good passionate speech. Some of his old team-mates were there Les & Peter Gorley, Bill Pattinson, Alan Banks, David Collister, Iain McCorquodale plus Sol Roper and Harry Archer. There was a taped message from Ray Wilkins and a DVD interview with Paul Charlton. Another good night's crack.
