No luggsy we wernt robbed. We had sufficient ball and field position to win the game but lacked a player to penetrate donnys good defence. Key players were missing but thats no excuse its just rugby league and injuries. Take nothing away from the effort of the lads playing on sunday though they gave their all. Yes a few 50/50 decisions went against us but thats nothing new in this league for all teams. I'm confident we would have beaten donny at home but thats life.

Now this is stunning logic from of the mentalists.

How can they say a player with 200 odd SL games is past it ?? Only thackeray and maybe phillips in the future could play SL out of their forwards

Well you cant argue with that, theres no way any SL player who has played over 200 games can be past it, maybe we should try and sign Paul Sculthorpe, he played a few games which means hecant be past it.

I wonder if this is the international forward boxer was raving about. He has played for scotland 4 times. They are already getting very excited about next year, I'm not sure why, but they seem to think they'll be better than town next year. They are beyond belief some of them on that board. One is claiming Nathan mossop would be a better choice than matty, it cheers me up reading there nonsense

to be fair to haven fans in genral i believe they know they need major re-building and its just a small group on deluded.com that live in fantasy land, they may get enough in to stay up but they need two years of work on the squad to do anything in the chamnpoinship

Let's face it the most either club can wish for is to stay up so the squad can be built upon. Neither of our clubs have a wealthy director/owner and our crowds aren't flocking back in droves. So to go and spend money like Keighley did last season is a bit unrealistic. We know we have a great board and coaches who all pull in the same direction. A couple of more board members prob wouldn't go amiss with all the work for the new season and wc to do just to spread the workload but I'm sure they have a plan in place.
Let the Jambo's crow about what they're gonna do just like they did at the start of this season. It was great to see the realisation on their faces when it started unravelling!
Up the Town!
The race is not always to the swift nor the battle to the strong, but thats the way to bet!

Well said Guru. Our board of directors is 4 strong plus a couple of associate directors. They all work their socks off for our club and it would be nice to see some of you younger fellas putting yourselves forward to become directors. How I wish I was 20 years younger with good health as I would jump at the invite the Chairman made this week. Your assistance doesn't have to be financial it can be merely helping with the workload. Now is the right time to get in there with the club on the up.
I remember when .............................

"It is impossible not to feel a twinge of sympathy for Workington Town, the fall guys this season for the Super League's determination to retain it's European dimesion, in the shape of Paris. While the French have had every assistance to survive, the importance of having a flagship in a heartland area like West Cumbria has been conveniently forgotten." - Dave hadfield - Independent 25th Augsut 1996.

Times and Star on Friday in the column that Dave Bowden writes he was saying that they were getting thin on the ground for board members and asking if anyone was interested to get in touch with the club.
