Terrible idea. I know we all complain about Refs, but they do a very difficult job with some players who are not always, shall we say, honest. Do we sue players who drop the ball? Miss an easy tackle?
With the best, thats a good bit of PR, though I would say the Bedford team, theres, like, you know, 13 blokes who can get together at the weekend to have a game together, which doesnt point to expansion of the game. Point, yeah go on!

I can't see it happening as they would have a great deal of trouble proving things forward passes etc. The game should be left to the referees, whether that includes a VR or not, and just accept that anomalies will happen. How long can the outcome of a game be allowed to be in the balance? Verdicts followed by appeals etc, etc. It could kill the game, daftest idea since uncle Mo had the idea of awarding points for each half of the game instead of just the final score or the Bonus Point.

Strange how a video ref can't rule on a forward pass, but can rule on an offside? Both instance are judged on an imaginary line across the pitch, even without computer technology superimposing a line across the pitch, we the fans and the commentators can see the forward passes a mile off. So just what is the problem when the video is present at a game?
The R.F.L. make Sepp Blatter look sane in their blinkered non-acceptance of the 'third eye' on top of the debacle they've created for the clubs in C1.

Very interesting as I live in OZ and haven`t seen this item, but I notice it`s come from a lawyer and that says it all. No man in his right mind would want to ref if they brought this load of nonsense in,so I`d say it`s a no brainer straight away. Manly got away with some poor decisions in their game with the Cowboys, but got their comeuppance the week after against the Storm with some equally poor decisions, but this time against them. I think it`s called swings and roundabouts and such is life. Of course this doesn`t excuse glaring mistakes from the blokes in the video box and there are moves over here to instigate an American Football idea where the ref(s) can go to a booth just off the field to review what has just happened at a try scoring event,so I`d say that will come in soon. Tony Archer and Ben Cummins will ref this Sunday`s GF,so let`s hope they have good games and desist from using the blokes upstairs, but somehow with Bill Harrigan watching their every move,I`d say they`ll use the technology just about every time a try is scored. Let`s just hope the game will be remembered for two top teams playing to their potential and watching great players deciding the outcome, not the officials.
