this is probably why there is no news on next seasons fixtures or when the new season will start.
The RL should not have promoted 4 teams from Championship One before the make up of next seasons division was firmly established.
Things can change last year the RL decided not to relegate Dewsbury and York.--- to get out of the present problem the RLcould decide only to promote 2 teams, or god forbid relegate the bottom 2 clubs from this seasons Championship ie ourselves and York-- or they could merge the 2 divisions which would mean that you do not play every club home and away, the table being decided on a pecentage basis-- it's been done before -- or a even more radical solution, invite Featherstone, looking at the size of their squad to enter their reserve team into Championship One for one season only to give time for a proper format to be establihed.

We applied but apparently it's against the rules though a special one off exception should be made, either for Fev or another club just until Coventry join next year. I reckon we would still take a few hundred fans to most away games so attendances wouldn't suffer by us havig 2 teams

I wonder what the RFL's expectations of attendances will be in this division.

And all that travelling ... nobody likes following Hunslet away from home more than me but even I'd baulk at a fixture list that practically every two weeks took us to Oxford ... London ... Gateshead ... Gloucester ... Neath ... especially bearing in mind the standard of match I could expect to see when I got there ...

I think that's the right decision by the RFL, to keep the integrity of the sport, its bad enough having 9 teams in there, never mind adding a clubs reserve team, this is supposed to be semi professional sport not the Pennine League.

Its quite funny that the Super League franchise system was brought in to Super League to stop teams over spending to avoid the dreaded drop, yet there's potential relegation for teams in our division next season to probably a division that if your relegated to means the potential the end of your club. How many teams are going to be over spending in our division in 2013 just to avoid the drop?? I know we wont be cause we cant afford to but other teams are already splashing the cash in a desperate attempt to avoid the drop. It cant be good for the long term financial viability of clubs and our sport, maybe its time to bring in the Franchise system between the Championship and Championship 1 (AKA the League of Death)???

as usual the RFL havnt thought this through as they are only interested in SL.

So glad the Raiders got out at the 1st attempt. Barrow havnt got the finances to splash the cash (legally or not) like when under despot Des so will struggle to attract established Chamionship or old head SL players up to Craven Park and will have to rely on this years mainly local squad with a couple of out of towners to supplement them.

I really fear for the likes of established old skool clubs like Hornets and Oldham this coming season and would hate them to go to the wall .... its criminal really

Yes you've got to feel for a club like Oldham, once a top club, now playing at the whitebank entertaining Oxford and Gloucester, its a travesty it really is!

Featherstone have a very strong 2nd team and are a semi professional team as well as they get paid to play. I think they would hold their own in championship 1 and would push to win it I think, they would also push teams in the championship especially the lower end if the league.

Dont disagree with you Daz, your right they would hold there own, but this is about the integrity of the sport, or whats left of it, it shouldn't be allowed and rightly so the RFL have stopped it.

The FA would never let Man City put there reserve team in the Championship? because it would totally undermined the sport and the clubs in that league.

Now if Fev were linking up with say Oxford and sending 4-6 players on dual reg for a season that would be totally different and it would work, Fev would benefit from their lads getting game time and Oxford would get young quality players boosting their squad.

Once its OLDHAM VS FETHERSTONE ROVERS 'A' thats when its a massive problem and should never be allowed to happen!

The format that Red Hall are running with will be different again in a couple of years to what we are seeing now, because they like to experiment with lower leagues until they think they've got it right, its a joke, some of these teams would struggle in NCL Prem, poor Oldham and Rochdale........

york were not relegated because barrow and the taffs cheated, nothing to do with the make up of the leagues , because 2 teams still went down
sometimes you have to take a step backwards to move forward
