Looks like this coming season will be a tough one. all clubs seem to be picking up some good quality players from SL. Leigh and Haven being the most notable. Looks like we need to pull our fingers out.

why who have Haven signed apart from Rooney and Jackson who will both struggle in this league due to ageing bones and lack of pace

I think Paul Jackson will do really well in this league.

Andy Ballard will be a useful signing for us.

Dont get me wrong Marshy IF hes coming to us it'll be a great signing but hes not got the experience and craft of a player like Aspinwall. I hope im wrong but its looking like we need a few good signings.

I did bring this up a few wks back, most of the clubs are going to be a lot stronger next season and swinton have only signed 2 players upto now.Hope its not a case of, we will have the d/r players so we will be fine

They've only announced 2 signings bigtony. We might hear of further re-signings on Thursday. I certainly hope we do!

When you think how far all the other teams are into their squads for next season and the quality of some of the signings its going to be a very tough league to be in, i just hope they have been doing a lot behind the scenes or swinton really will struggle next season

I agree, but with each passing day there are fewer and fewer of the top quality players left. if we want to avoid dropping out of this league, in what is in essence, our first real season in the championship we need to recruit some top quality players. this league will only get stronger. i fear it will be the death of the club if we get relegated.

I cannot believe that any of the four promoted clubs will be stronger than us next season.We have had a season playing at this level and we know what to expect.With the nucleus of last seasons squad with a couple of quality additions and the influx of Warrington squad players I just cannot see how we are going to be involved in the scrap for relegation.

I agree Dave. I think Thursday night will see the announcement of several re signings. With Ainscough and Ianson we already have a top class half back partnership.

Steve Mc is no fool and knows better than we do about assembling a squad. There is no way he only has 2 players so far. We have only been TOLD about 2 players. The meeting is the key!

Well after last night we've got a team signed up. I'm amazed we have managed to keep penny. Thats great news. With Ballard we have two super quick wingers.

11 signed so not quite Mark. In talks with the others and some big players from last year, Higson, Morty etc.

Agecroft update was promising, but as someone noted last night, we have heard that before.

JK was very confident that planning permission would be put forward in 3-4 weeks after the "first meeting", which is next Wednesday.

He also read a statement from the council saying that we had their support if we put forward a financial plan that stacks up. Again, JK was confident that we have (along with 2 other parties).

And we're at the LSV for the start of this year, dependent on Agecroft.

Basically, we wait until planning goes in, then start to get genuinely excited! That's basically because there's a very good chance of it being approved.

A fair bit was also brought up about the Warrington partnership. We're training at their facilities. We will have access to their conditioners. We also get to pick a number of their players to play in our first team, that number has NOT yet been decided.

Steve Mac then stood up and said he had personally had reservations about it as he didn't want the club to lose it's identity. He also said that after looking at the partnership with Wire much closely and meeting up with their directors and trainers etc, he was more receptive to it.

He basically said that if it was Swinton becoming a "feeder" club to Warrington then he would have walked out. The moral of the story was that if he's happy then we should be happy as well.

Again, I've probably missed some, but that's what I took from the meeting.
