RFL (Lets not forget they are the governing body) have told the NCL Committee that it will be OK as long as the successful new clubs are working towards clubmark - Yes I know some of the clubs already in the NCL still don't have it.Bowes

I think it was something facility related, there's an article I'll look for later. They wanted to join what looked like being a winter 2011-12 before the vote for summer after which 9 applications came in. Seemed a shame though IMO without knowing the full story.I suppose ms the latest club acceptance if Drig got knocked back, they must fulfill the criteria unless they got knocked back because their clubhouse is a very short walk away from their pitch/park (Yes I've played there as well).......................................................but Milfords
is also just a short walk as well.

The clubs were told on Monday that all clubs applying had clubmark.

It appears that the name of Bramley will disappear once again from the Rugby League map after a decision by the National Conference League to reject their application for entry into a league in which they’ve competed over the past season. - LIEBowes we have looked at the criteria and we are fully aware of it,we submitted a 2 page statement of interest to join the league, we have also prepared a more in depth document that answers a lot of questions which we have not had the chance to present.
What in the press release is a lie and what is libellous please.
I dont expect to have a divine right to join any league but it would have been nice to get the chance to present document for next year with the plans that we had made thats all.
The original Bramley Rugby League Club folded in 1999 after years of mismanagement but supporters soon rallied around and the club was reborn in 2004 playing as the Buffaloes in what was the fourth tier of the national summer game.
Since then the West Leeds side has experienced unprecedented success with two Grand Final triumphs and a further three appearances in the showpiece occasion as well as five Minor Premiership titles.
Martyn Cheney, a lifelong supporter of the Amber and Black and chairman since 2004, commented: “It looks like we’ve been hung out to dry by the NCL for no clear, apparent reason and its a decision that has angered a lot of people with Rugby League in their blood
“We revived the club along unique lines and created a template for supporter ownership that has been replicated at many other clubs and organisations and is held up by the likes of Supporters Direct as an example to all. That will now count for nothing after we were refused entry into the competition we’ve been involved in for the past twelve months, (Still not true) a competition that pushed us a further three levels down the Rugby League pyramid.
“Its a farcical decision. We reached the Play Offs last season and had high hopes of moving the club forward under Craig Lingard, the latest in a long line of top class up and coming coaches that we’ve employed.
“We play our home games at Stanningley and our relationship with that club has been a symbiotic one from the start. We all benefit especially when our hundreds of loyal supporters have turned out in force at our home games and it appears the ground sharing arrangement has counted against us. - Any evidence to back up that claim?
“We intend to appeal but we are not hopeful. It appears to be the end of the road for the Bramley dream as there is simply no point dropping down even more levels when our real objective all along was to re establish the club within the professional ranks. There is simply no appetite or enthusiasm on the part of our volunteer directors and players who have committed thousands of hours over the last 12 years or our fantastic army of supporters who have stuck with us throughout.
“The last ten seasons have provided all of us with some fantastic experiences and memories and we’ve been truly ground breaking at times in our approach to branding, PR and marketing especially when it came to building links with likeminded sponsors such as Unison, RMT and the Co-operative Society. It looked like we were on track to return to the top echelons of the game at one point but we have now been let down badly by the Rugby League authorities.
“It’s a decision that is perplexing and certainly diminishes our enthusiasm for what is the greatest game. Maybe the Bramley name will emerge again in the future but at this moment in time it appears that the Amber and Black are no more and Rugby League will be the poorer for it,” concluded Martyn.
It is a simple fact that the league Bramley have played in in 2012 is no relation to the new National Conference League Division 3 - a division that has never existed before. Any one at Bramley naive enough to believe that the RLCN being tagged onto the bottom end of the NCL structure for anything other than as a matter of RFL housekeeping to make things look tidy is a fool. Bramley are nowhere near meeting the criteria to be a member of the NCL. Who on earth are they planning to appeal to?

Mate give it up, Bramley are about as viable for NCL as Leeds Akkies... And I imagine someone will be in touch with the club to let them know why when/before it is officially announced, rather than just appeared on a messageboard.

There is a massive difference to being close to or on the verge of meeting criteria and being as far away from it as Bramley are. Get a grip!

Their clubhouse (last time i was there) was an old pub with changing rooms round the back, the pitch was 200/300 metre march away, they have juniors, two teams and the 1st team record speaks for itself.I think it was something facility related, there's an article I'll look for later. Again just out of interested who is this junior team your affiliated with?
Again as I said earlier maybe not all your players but the vast majority are from other teams, as the seasons cross over it was never going to be a vaible option. Don't mean to offend I'm from stanningley I just can't see how it ever work in the long term, if any of the Bramley lads still wanna play though they will be welcome down at Stann for next season as will all the die hard Bramley fans.

Why did Bramley apply to join the NCL if as they say they have been competing in it for the last twelve month,s. They also state they have spent thousand,s of hour,s building up thier club over the last twelve years. Members of the NCL have spent thousands of hours and pounds building up thier clubs by investing in junior teams improving clubhouses and dressing rooms. I cant recall any NCL clubs do what Bramley do at the the start of the new season advertise in trade press for players offering attractive packages, Finally with regards to coaches it did not take Peter Roe long to wake up and smell the coffee. It appears that the name of Bramley will disappear once again from the Rugby League map after a decision by the National Conference League to reject their application for entry into a league in which they’ve competed over the past season. - LIE

I once was watching our 2nd team against Streethouse in the mis 80's, we had a 40 odd year-old prop playing who had played for Halifax in the early 70's, a young lad of about 13 or 14 was taking the micky out of the prop from the touch line, the coach of Streethouse (Can't remember his name but at the time he played for Wakey) went crazy with the young lad and gave him one of the best telling off's I've ever heard, he ranted on about all players whatever standards are heros for pulling a shirt on to play the greatest game.Rodley Rockets.
Since then I have never called a player and repect one and all including the players of Rodley Rockets.

I also have respect for the junior players at Rodley, and every player who graces our great game.
I have no respect for clubs who dont get of their fat arses and attempt to better their selves by attracting new players be it open age/yoiuth or juniors but would prefer to poach or take over other clubs to reach their goal.
