Any thoughts, please post them here:
I think Europe will be heading into Hell's cauldron this week, I really hope they can ignore all the Boorish idiots that frequent the golf courses of the United States "GERRINTHEHOLE"! etc.
Bring the Cup back with you boys

Well i did start a thread about it a week or so ago but it died a death.Cant wait 3 days of ups and downs.
It will be very very noisy, just love the yanks shouting getinthehole from the tee on a par 5.Its a toss up as who wins this.

I don't like golf and I don't want to be part of Europe but somehow I do enjoy the Ryder Cup.

Wow what a statement, especially as i'm led to believe you are mainly a union fan, there'll be more skill and exitement in 1 hole of the ryder cup than that garbage you watch, big fat sumo wrestler types with cauliflower ears and the rest that just kick kick kick.Anyway enjoy you next bootathon over the weekend.I'd rather watch paint dry or a nail rust than union.Boring pastime for middle management types. Think I'll pass.

Apparantly the ryder cup is 3rd in popularity viewing figures behind the Olympics and the Fifa World cup,True, because it would be wrong.
but it is painfully boring to watch and cannot be classed as a sport.

Back on topic please, if you want to slag off Union Rah-Rah Kick & Clap rubbish, there is an entirely seperate board to do that on.
I'm talking about TV shots of sky & Grass
(I still think we could win it)

Sorry pal, thats my fault, you see i feel if you dont have anything positive to say in a thread about a sport then dont comment in it at all, thats why you would never see me post in the cross code forum,i've no interest in the game whatsoever.I acknowledge others may do so i'll leave that section to them.Back on topic please, if you want to slag off Union Rah-Rah Kick & Clap rubbish, there is an entirely seperate board to do that on.

Golf is one of the world's major participation sports. Even the sport of the Gods, Rugby Union, pales into insignificance against its allure.
I always find it amusing how people find golf an easy target, it's probably because most people can't play it.

My friend has just got a set of clubs and he says its addictive. He's not your stereotypical golfer (doesn't own a BMW, is athletic, not well off) but says he doesn't bother with joining a club because if the snobbery element, he just uses pay per play courses.Golf is one of the world's major participation sports. Can't stand the game meself, a "good walk spoiled" etc. And yes I've tried it. And yes I was pretty useless at it. But most of all it bored me to tears.
There are only two things worse than playing it and they are:
Listening to my mates who do play it reliving every last boring minute of the last game they played when out for a drink. We're not interested.
Watching it on TV. I can't think of one sport less suited to being televised. Like Bleep said, it mostly consists of shots of an empty sky. If I want to look at that I can just stand in my back garden and look up.
