No but the internationals they have organised for this coming Saturday are. Neither events should be taking time at this time of year. It is ridiculous that clubs should face being without key players at this time of the year. It has the potential to ruin the seasons of a couple of sides in the top six, a couple of losses could see teams drop out of the six or finish significantly lower than they might have done.

So you agree it is a circus then

I am sick of receiving information stating that the playing calender has been a success when quite clearly its not , not just a t youth and junior but also at open age .

No body gives a feck about the players ,its not rocket sceince to fit in rep games and internationals into the program at a time when it does not have an effect on the bread and butter fixtures, too much politics in rugby league and its killing the game at grass roots .

Could not agree more, it has has affected clubs badly. Six fixtures missed by any player selected for the community lions throughout the season.

Circus is not actually a bad word for it, what sort of person organises a tour so players miss 3 out the last 4 games of the season on top of the 3 they have already missed! its a joke

whats the difference with a tour being organised and players missing 3 or 4 games due to representing there country

And the difference the NCL organising the regualar playing season through the peak summer months and players missing 3 or 4 games then, if not more!!

Is it because the RFL told them to ???????

Do you think that Rugby Union and the football association are missing a trick and they have not got the foresight the NCL committee have got and they didnt realise how lucrative and beneficial it will be playing through the peak of summer??? ( could you answer this one Longman) perhaps you could share your foresight!!

The NCL arranged their fixtures throughout the Summer Months as originally planned, without any knowledge of any tours that the RFL had in mind.

This has happened before with BARLA and will probably happen again with the RFL.

Why worry. Their has been a lot of talk regarding players missing for various reasons, why cant clubs just get on with the cards they are dealt and
stop bleating on here, how hard done they are.

So you have anything between 3 and 7 players missing for various reasons, the games go ahead because we have reserve teams and youth teams, to me thats great.
Look at the league tables in the premier and first division, best its ever been.

The league may look the most competitive it has done for a long time, but i would certainly say the standard has dropped,

No teams in the league would have competed with the teams of a decade ago

so what happens when the reserve team players stop turning up on saturdays due to not knowing if there game will be on or not? all of a sudden you will have no reserve team,

the better players from the reserve team will step up ( or more often then not the one who will travel) what do you suggest the remainder of the reserve team do? could you please answer this one.

it is clear from your statement that you only care about the first team, you have just shown a total disrespect for half the players who belong to an NCL club,
i thought the idea was to encourage players to the sport not drive them away,

sorry for bleating on as you put it but i thought thats what the forum was for,

the mojority of poeple believe it was foolish to try summer rugby in the first place but could understand it with 30 pieces of silver on offer from the RFL but to berry your head in the sand is unforgivable,

I have got concerns regarding the reserve grade players also.
The way the reserve leagues have been run by the RFL is totally unaccebtable in the sense that they dont know if they have a fixture week in week out.

In an ideal world i would like to see both teams play on the same day at the same venue, or the NCL run a reserve grade compitition, but thats not going to happen for various reasons.

You have probably noticed that i totally believe in Summer Rugby, but the pitfalls that clubs have been encountering can by overcome only if you want it to work.
People have got to realise that the NCL are committed to this summer rugby for three years so they iether work to over come the problems or jump ship.

IMO no NCL clubs will jump ship.
