The weather was against open rugby but I thought Barrow played too much one man up the middle type rugby. Donny can handle that all day. When they threw it out at the start and at the end they scored!!!!! Well done Donny, hard lines Barrow. As Holty said "Onwards and upwards to next season".

"It is impossible not to feel a twinge of sympathy for Workington Town, the fall guys this season for the Super League's determination to retain it's European dimesion, in the shape of Paris. While the French have had every assistance to survive, the importance of having a flagship in a heartland area like West Cumbria has been conveniently forgotten." - Dave hadfield - Independent 25th Augsut 1996.

These two teams though are two of the best and not every team is full of stars, Lee. I think if our clubs can put together a team of committed players with the right attitudes with good players in the main positions to pull the strings we could do okay. We are not going to be top four contenders but with a squad of players pulling together we can be halfway up the league table. Fev and the Eagles both have players that are just above average but in a team environment they pull together and do it consistently.

Know what you are saying Keith but as it stands I dont think the Raiders (or Worky, Haven and Donny) can compete with the top 6 in the Championship and the rest are recruiting well so it will be a struggle. Barrow won all their home games this season....with all the best will in the world that wont happen next year! I hope I am wrong but with money ties we cant compete to get the very best Championship players, dont know if Workies finances stretch to that degree mate ?

If ever there was a game when it wasn't meant to be that was it yesterday ... Chance after chance , disallowed tries , near misses etc etc . Barra should have won and the officials didn't help . Donny , wowwy , what am impressive champion side , not. Sheffield game was great though . What a set of backs they have , the winger Turner and the big number 4 look set for big futures , and god knows how Knowles isn't in SL .. I feel sorry for Daryl Powell , reduce the league to just one to keep up quality . Ha ha hard luck .
