Medway Dragons Wheelchair RL player. Leeds Rhinos, St Albans Centurions and North Hertfordshire Crusaders fan. Also follow (to a lesser extent) Catalans Dragons, London Broncos, South Sydney Rabbitohs, Jacksonville Axemen, Vrchlabi Mad Squirrels, København Black Swans and Featherstone Rovers

Think Newcastle sold out last year too. They're in Canberra next year. Maybe that's the kind of market internationals need to be pitched at if Sydney and Brisbane aren't buying it.
Had a scan of the UK newsaper websites and couldn't find any reports on yesterday's game. You'd normally expect a couple of pieces. Maybe the lack of England-Aus/ NZ games removes the context.

Not sure its fair to say Brisbane aren't buying it, they sold out the WC final well in advance.

You beat me to it John. Brisbane are far more supportive of international games involving Australia than Sydney currently are. It won't be long now before we here the Sydneysiders whinge about not getting many Kangaroos' matches. Just give them two SoO games. A. because as we all know SoO is the bestest RL ever played and B. with two home games NSW might, just might, have half a chance of winning a series.

You beat me to it John. Brisbane are far more supportive of international games involving Australia than Sydney currently are. It won't be long now before we here the Sydneysiders whinge about not getting many Kangaroos' matches. Just give them two SoO games. A. because as we all know SoO is the bestest RL ever played and B. with two home games NSW might, just might, have half a chance of winning a series.
I'm no Sydney lover but they do get a crapload of NRL games during the year so I can understand if the people there don't treat internationals with the respect they deserve.
Taking them around the country is a great idea for a number of reasons.

Brisbane's done better than Sydney but it's only the WC final that sold out and generally Origin's a much bigger seller there too.
Last ANZAC game at Lang Park pulled under 40,000.
Anyway,let's see more games at Townsville, Newcastle, Melbourne, Canberra, Gold Coast, Perth (?), Adelaide (?)- national teams should play round the country
