..... Are these a thing of the past at Barrow now or are we still looking at setting something up this year?

It was a simple question you moron. I didn't ask if the funds were there or how we would pay for it. I asked if we are going to run one or is it a thing of the past.

do you need a bigger wooden spoon rooster ?????????????????????????????????? LOL

+ I thought as part of being admitted to the Championship you had to have or plan to have a youth structure setup ? Although with the SL academies being abandoned maybe that requirement has now been ditched.....maybe a member of the BOD could advise ?

Lets be realistic about this..

There is nothing wrong with asking a question and it deserves an answer.

The youth set up under the RFL has changed dramatically and needs to be reviewed by each and every club. At this moment in time Barrow Raiders need to support the service area and academy along with the local development areas such as the Jets and the sports development through CP2 through the schools. This has a financial impact on the Raiders and must be budgeted for annually, however even if financial assistance is limited the facility and resources must be allocated.
It will be many years before Barrow Raiders are in a position to fund an area development program and MUST therefore look at the above.

I'm sure that the director of rugby will be looking into how we can assist with any development within the community.

As for duel reg and local players, in an ideal world we would field a competitive team from our area. The decision on dual reg was made last year from a financial and availability point of view and I feel it worked well. There are pros and cons with every decision and once these are weighed up then an informed decision can be reached based not only preference but the financial implications.

Barrow Raiders must be run as a business and sometimes the business decisions are not the most popular with the consumer (fan).
