Tickets for Saturday's highly anticipated 2012 Stobart Super League Grand Final between Warrington Wolves v Leeds Rhinos at Old Trafford, Manchester, will be available to purchase at the stadium's Ticketing and Membership Office in the North West car park from tomorrow morning.

There is availability in both the £21 and £41 ticket brackets and fans will be able to guarantee their seat for the 2012 season finale by purchasing direct from the stadium from 10.00am right up until kick-off at 6.00pm.

Fans can also order tickets over the phone through the RFL Ticket Office on 0844 956 1113 until 11.00am tomorrow or by visiting www.rugbyleaguetickets.co.uk

With the weather set fair and the stadium capacity set to be tested, fans who have pre-ordered tickets for collection tomorrow are advised to arrive in good time to avoid congestion at the turnstiles.

Didn't it sell out in 2010 or get close to selling out?

Not sure but OT's capacity has fluctuated over the years, so a sell out in 1999, might be a smaller crowd than 66k tomorrow. IIRC the biggest crowd in recent years was the 2006 GF (72500..ish)

Living down South I couldn't really afford to go on my own this year, however I'd be really disappointed if there was only 66k this year. I though 2010 - 2011 crowds were somewhere between 68,000 - 72,000? Isn't OT somewhere 73k - 75k at present?

I only gave 66K as a rough guess, hopefully it will be more than that. In fact, the fact that I couldn't get two seats together might indicate a decent crowd.

OT capacity is just short of 76k, there are slightly different numbers quoted in different places but a common one seems to be 75,811.

In 1998 for the first GF it was only 55k capacity, rising to about 68k for 2005.

Biggest crowd to date is 72,582 for Saints vs Hull in 2006.

There's actually some great GF stats at the following link

http://www.thisische...nd_Final_stats/

I'll be there anyway, can't wait!

The capacity is reduced because of the screen

2011 - 69,107
2010 - 71,526
2009 - 63,259
2008 - 68,810
2007 - 71,352
2006 - 72,582
2005 - 65,728
2004 - 65,547
2003 - 65,537
2002 - 61,138
2001 - 60,164
2000 - 58,132
1999 - 50,717
1998 - 43,533

From 1998 to 2006, the GF crowd grew year on year. Largely due to the increase in capacity but also prestige. The first real drop was the first repeat of Saints vs Leeds and when this continued for a 3rd year it really dropped to 63k. This is why I really didn't want another Saints-Leeds, Saints fans had had enough of going to Old Trafford. They brought noticeably fewer last year as well.

Wire's first final should ensure a 70k attendance for the final. I'd be disappointed if it was below that because by all accounts Leeds have sold as many as ever and Wire are well supported away, and will certainly have sold more than Saints did last year. I suspect we are seeing fewer neutral tickets sold, and this may be to do with the reduced prestige of the top 8 playoff and the poorer image of the playoff that it gives off.

The capacity is reduced, I'm pretty sure the Hull-Saints game was very close to a sellout. Haven't they increased capacity since then though?

Just found a quote from 2006 stating that the capacity was 73,000 and a handful remained unsold for the Saints-Hull game (which ended at 72,582).This would make sense.

Utter tosh. We had a brilliant turnout last year. Probably the best since 2006.

I'd say the low crowd in 2009 was far more to do with the fact the bankers had ###### all our money up against a wall.

I've got some really crappy footage somewhere from 2006 of the teams coming out. It was only an old phone and the quality was low but I remember how loud it was. Very.
