Not quite sure what to make of this one, played in Griffith, NSW...

...but at least now we know what happened to Hutch Maiava!!!

The last paragraph in that article strikes an incredibly optimistic note though:-

With 11 NRL experienced players expected to suit up for the Azzuri in their first game against Wales, games like this one will prove invaluable for their preparation for international Rugby League’s biggest stage.

Assuming that this Italian side won't be remotely close to what will play in next year's WC, I'm not sure how this will prove 'invaluable' preparation.

Next week, Italy play Fiji - in Sydney.

This isn't an international match so I'm not sure why it's in this forum.

It involves a team representing Italy, so it's international.

If we had a return to Lions tours and they were playing Newcastle, this also would not be an international match, but I am sure this would be the appopriate forum to discuss it.

Well this is as much of an international occasion as the likes of South Sydney Juniors vs Lancashire which are posted on here. I'm second guessing here, but I suspect Evil Homer might be referring to the lack of any legit Italians in the match.
