Dewsbury Rams are delighted to announce that Leeds Rhinos Under-20s Player of the Year Aaron Brown has signed for the club.

The 20-year-old loose forward or stand-off joins the Rams on a one-year deal fresh from an outstanding season at Headingley in the Valvoline Cup competition.

A former Waterhead Oldham amateur, Brown followed in the footsteps of legendary Rhino Kevin Sinfield by leaving the Oldham club for Leeds in 2010, and has since caught the eye of respected Academy observers with his organisational skills and consistently high level of performance.

And now, having walked away with the top prize at the Under-20s' recent awards ceremony, Brown says he is ready to take the next step in his career, and is relishing the opportunity to impress in the famous Red, Amber and Black of Dewsbury.

"I heard really good things about the Rams from Liam Hood and Brad Singleton and I know that Glenn has big ambitions for the club, so I'm delighted to have signed here," said Brown. "My aim for 2013 is to pick up from where I left off last season and help the Rams challenge at the top of the competition. I know the Championship is a tough league, with some great players, but I'm really looking forward to the challenge. Like any young player, it's my dream to play in the Super League and I'm eager to take the opportunity to show everyone what I can do at the Rams next year."

Brown becomes the 20th member of Morrison's 2013 squad, and his tenth new signing. And the Rams boss says he is delighted to have been able to recruit a player of Brown's undoubted quality and potential.

"Aaron is a great talent and somebody I’ve tracked for a while at Academy level. He is capable of doing a great job at half-back or loose forward and somebody I’m excited about bringing to the club," said Morrison. "He isn’t afraid to take the line on, he’s got a great pair of hands on him and I’ve seen him tear defences apart on his own in 2012."

“The purpose of life is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experience.”  Eleanor Roosevelt

Looks like the Rams are trying hard for next season to get things improved, fancy a bet on their chances?
