It was 1980 and the fans were fighting before, during and after the game !! we drew then got beat 4 - 1 in the replay at Brunton park, I think Peter Beardsley scored for them. When was last time reds got to 1st round of the FA Cup?? Remember when i was a kid going with me dad when they played Carlisle in the cup 1981 i think there was full scale riots in the ground lol
It's a pity (the fighting apart) that we wont see that fixture repeated again at BP, it would have to be moved to Brunton Park.

Why? Leeds united played Histon ( I think it was) in the fa cup and few years ago at Histon. There ground is no better than BP and it was played no problem.

Half of a 2000 gate at BP, or half of a poossible 8,000 at Brunton Park.......a financial no brainer for the Red'sWhy? Leeds united played Histon ( I think it was) in the fa cup and few years ago at Histon. There ground is no better than BP and it was played no problem.

Obviously, but I thought you were getting at the state of the ground. With the new stand (which I will believe when I see it) the attendance will be over 3000

To be honest if reds did make the 1st round an away draw to someone like Bradford or sheff united would make the club the most money.
A ground with a capacity would do reds fine. No point in having a massive ground for a game what may come round every 10-15 year
Also as said above Leeds played Histon at Histon a few years ago and there ground is not much bigger than reds
