According to todays local paper plans for new season already underway. The clubs ceo Christophe Jouffret states the budget for next year should be slightly higher than 2012 - £5.6M. Season ticket sales reached a record 5000 last year with around 400 partners - public & private sponsors. The new stand has already generated new income streams & the new boutique should add to that. The loge panoramique accommodates several hundred invited guests on match days has been well received.

As in other years the club will again take a game on the road. They have been looking at the seaside town of Sete just down the road from Montpellier but the ground offered doesn't meet the requirements. The talk now though is taking a game to Toulouse in 2013 with Stade Ernest Wallon (19000 cap)- home of Stade Toulouse union club being targeted. Wigan it looks like after two years away are expected to return to Brutus. Another big name club wanted for Easter Monday which is now becoming the top draw of the season.

Wakefield & London like last year are expected back in January for pre-season training & warm-up games. Bein Sport want home games to KO at 4pm next year although the club look like they want that pushed back in the summer months. The squad appears complete with hooker Pelissier about to sign on for two more years leaving only Jean Phillipe Baile's situation to be resolved.

The club still searching for an Australian assistant coach with feelers put out originally for Wakefields James Webster but that has it appears been ruled out.

Playing a match at Stade Toulousain's ground seems the way to go. If there was any sense in the world of Super League they would have Catalans playing the Super League Champions, surely the locals would like to see that?

Just to be clear, I do mean the 2012 Champions Leeds Rhinos and not the Warriors, as some RL people would have you believe!

But Canetman assured me that Catalan have no money and the novelty factor was wearing off and an impending disaster would soon be upon the dragons and that USAP was putting the squeeze on them and that everything was really bad and terrible, coz he shared a glass of wine over dinner with a club insider and they said it was all true.

Yet another IDIOT post.Do you actually live downhere get real and read carefully what i have posted:) no-one has talked about impending disaster it is known throughout Perpignan that the dragons are tight for money (Like many clubs) and USAP are putting the squeeze on them,and i do not have to share a glass of wine with any insiders to have the true situation of the clubs finances as like other shareholders in the club i have access to the official accounts.CM

There is a story doing the rounds that the club will also install a permanent giant screen at Brutus for 2013. This will be much appreciated by the fans if comfirmed. With all their home games televised a fair percentage of decisions are often refered to the video official thus far causing much consternation amongst those of us watching.

A big screen at the Brutus could mean trouble.
With the number of the decisions and the shambolic nature of those which go against the Dragons it will cause a riot!
Imagine what would have happened in the games v Saints and Leeds if there'd been a big screen.
The crowd would have gone mad.

I don't see how they can increase their budget from previous years and install a giant screen if they're short of money. You'll obviously know more than me about Catalan but being on a tight budget should surely mean you can't afford such luxuries.

Its not a case of USAP doing this directly its via the maire,basically the maire (The present one are more pro USAP) but lucky for the dragons the region (To the likes of you and me similar to a county council in the UK but much larger) give an ever inceasing amount of money to the dragons as the head man (Elected) is a rugby league fanatic.CM

It seems strange they would do anything to harm a local business which brings tourists into the city and carries the city name around on their shirts. Surely the mairie are also elected and would lose out in elections if that were the case?

That is the problem,the old argument for dosh from LA MAIRE:) was that the club brought substantial funds into the city via tourism (That was certainly the case in the first 2 seasons) however now 90% of visiting fans stay in Spain as the locals have been very greedy and basically priced themselves out of the market.CM

This is the same crew that destroyed the whole game of RL in their country to further the agenda of RU. You don't think a little thing like tourist revenue being lost would phase them, do you ?
