also the trees you took down would have taken up a lot of water?

The water is on the other side of the ground,Did you drop any concrete during the refurbishment of the ground?

About a foot down there are 4 or 5 x 20 metre x 5 metre concret slabs where there once was a childrens play area, we believe this and the water table being full is the reason and obviously the amount of rain we've had over the last two days, we had a sump drain dug at the end of last season in that area and up to this week it had been working a treat.
As for stopping summer, no thanks we've been able to put two teams out running from a pub and thats with constantly taking between 6 and 10 players from the 2nd team, this week we would have probably had our best team out of the season with 5 players coming back into the side and 2 more missing due to injury.
