Squad numbers became a joke when numbers got into the 40's a couple of years back.Hopefully numbers will stay in the late 20's this time around if we have them back. Are we going to have any new shirts for 2013.Think we should keep our home design and just change our away shirts.

When was the change back to squad numbers announced?
And why?
And why?

Why ? Because jerseys are fitted much tighter these days to stop shirt-pullers making tackles. Most clubs ended up duplicating a lot of jersey numbers in different sizes anyway so there's no cost saving. Others just took no notice of it. There was a week at the end of July where only three Championship sides had a starting line-up of 1-13 with subs numbered 14-17. All but two of the others had jersey numbers higher than 17 on show. South Wales obviously didn't know there was a rule with the number of 20+ jerseys they had on show ....

Thanks. Does this mean that all CC clubs will be using squad numbers next season?

Then there is still time for the to see sense and stick with 1 to 17.
We don't want to see idiotic squad numbers back; who wants to see wingers with numbers 22 and 37, or the full back wearing number 8?
Legs, Dews, Legs, 'cos Wigan do!

It's not just that crown flatter - with all those numbers you need to carry arround a sheet with all the names of the squad players on, then another bit of paper with DR's - and that could be any number of names and numbers, then a bit of paper with the names and numbers of the opposition squad and their DR's. I just want to know if the bloke running in a try from sixty metres is an opposition winger or a prop (not beyond the realms of possibility given recent seasons). It will help of course, if there are enough team sheets to go round. Then there is still time for the to see sense and stick with 1 to 17.

Team sheets only have to be with the referee 1hr before kick off so that would be difficult
Red Amber Black - Its that simple
