Can someone, anyone help me please?

I made the mistake of going for an update to Mozilla Firefox which is my usual choice of search thing for my Internet stuff.

But since the update I'm stuck with very annoying pop-ups at the bottom of the screen in a rather annoying shade of blue. Not only that, contained within the text of anything I am browsing through are some words that are underlined. I think they are 'hyper-links' which take you to more annoying pop-out guff. Also, whenever I am writing stuff on forums, my old Mozilla Firefox would underline a badly spelled word in red to alert me so that I could change or ignore as appropriate.

Can one of you ace 'geeks' help a 54 year old duffer fix this effing annoying stuff.

Thanks in anticipation.

Moff.

PS: I know that I can use Google Chrome and I do for some things but I have a lot of bookmarks in Mozilla Firefox that I can't be @r$t changing.

:)

You can import all your bookmarks into chrome.

View/Toolbars then untick add ons toolbar

Then go to tools/add ons and select the extensions on the left side and remove/delete any uspicious looking add on
