Cameron Smith wins 'International Player of the Year'.

The main awards are a bit of a waste of time in my opinion, but here are the individual competing nations players of the year:-

Germany: Mawuli Amefia
Ireland: Liam Finn

Lebanon: Danny Barakat
Papua New Guinea: Dion Aye
Russia: Sergey Konstantinov
Samoa: Tony Puletua
Scotland: John Duffy

Since when was Ben Barba an international?
What internationals has Ben Cummins refereed?
Why don't Norway or Denmark have players named?

So they make these awards as the international season just begins for the UK sides! They also choose their international player of the year based on two matches played six months apart! Who was the selection panel, the same one that chooses the Australian team? More Australian arrogance.

According to this week's League Weekly, Danny Lockwood had a vote for player of the year, so the judging panel wasn't exclusively Australian. However, there are so many flaws in these awards it's not funny. How have they managed to find a Japanese player of the year? And the Tongan player of the year is Brent Kite? Seriously!!!

These awards are about as credible as the organization itself.
