'tis currently serialised on BBC Radio 4 extra. Excellent listen and will please all you class warriors out there! :)

There was a fine version of it on the box with a young Tom piggott smith back in the 80s. Howard spring was a fine writer

agreed. these serialisations on radio 4 extra send me scurrying to the library to read the originals and fill some gaps in my literary education

I think I read Shabby Tiger these many years ago, but nowadays it's getting hard to remember if I read a book or only saw it on TV.

Well, there are you are. I've no idea whether I had the book out of Oldham Library or watched it on TV. Or if I'm confusing it with something else entirely. There was something about the pet shops on Tib Street in it, possibly?

And yet I can remember Paul Lord's disallowed try at Central Park in 1990 as if it were yesterday.
