Look at starting the season a little earlier if the weather permits - take advantage of the weather whilst you can.
Scrap the play offs - divisional champions take the prize.
I am sure there are some more good ideas that folks could add to the above.

12 teams per division would be ideal if there are enough new member teams = 22 games per team.

the season started 3rd march this season. for summer rugby do you not think this is already early enough?
i think players would prefer continuity of playing too, not play 1 miss 2 due to rearrangements for weddings, stag dos etc. which free weekends suit all, probably none.
cup matches or not?
do clubs (not players) prefer less fixtures?

I'm with you on the players want to be player ever week, the lack of games in the Yorkshire league was the reason we moved to the Pennine.the season started 3rd march this season. for summer rugby do you not think this is already early enough?

Quality not quantity its the future
for players yes, clubs treasurers might have a different view!

With too many players missing you are just completing the fixture rather than competing in the fixture and what good does that do ?

Club treasurers should look at increasing the revenue stream from all areas not just the times when games are played.
remember most if not all clubs officials are unpaid members. all their work for the clubs is done in their own time.
