Good news, be interesting to see where he fits into the team, with Mossop and Dandy already signed as hookers, and Casey & Campbell, along with Kaighan as halfbacks

According to tonights 'Mail' Holty is in talks with Jack Pedley. If he signs that makes 4 hookers. Difficult to see where they will all fit in.

Think Peds would be in line for a regular spot in the 17. Maybe move Dandy to loose forward, a good ball handler, providing the extra pivot. Look at the way Huddersfield have operated in a similar style. Most teams have tarted plaing a prop at 13 for the extra running impact, but think we need to be more mobile than that.
Know im gonna get shouted down here, but i thought Toal dropped off towards the end of the season for us after what can only be described as a phenomenal start to the campaign. Teams quickly cottoned on to his dart from the back of the scrum, and i think that this could be an area we could look at - as i said, try Dandy or Finchy there see how we go on - especially in the trial games.

He didn't score as many tries towards the end of last season but he still gets through quite a lot of tackling also. I'd leave him where he is but I can see where you're coming from with the ball handling 13.

As i said, with having 3 pivots across the field, say Casey, Campbell and Dandy, suported by a strong hooker, think we could shift the ball around the field well, hitting our strong running centres and 2nd rowers with ease. Against bigger teams like Fev, Fax and Workington (they're building massive pack) the added mobility could prove decisive.

Thing is we didnt hit out wide often enough for me, we have pace to burn in the centres and wings but we went up the middle far to offten imo.

Lets hope we shift the ball a lot more next season.

we dont know how good Casey is yet..lets not get carried away hes a worldbeater. According to the Rhinos forum he is ok and can cover 1 6 7 and 9 so hes a utility player but wasnt holding down a starting position in any of those roles in the u-20's team towards the end of the season. Jury is out for me lets wait and see ! One thing is he is a field and goalkicker as well.

As you said, Casey is a goalkicker, and for that alone he has to be given a starting spot in the current 13 with no other specialist in the squad. Holty, Ballard and Shaw are absent next season.

It's of no significance what was done last year (but in my opinion when playing Shaw had to be the obvious choice as goal kicker) what was being discussed was goal kicking alteratives for next season.
