Congratulations Brett, a great end to a superb season. He must have a Scottish Grannie or Grandad as both his parents are from Workington ! or maybe he visited Gretna one day, or somebody bought him a tin of shortbreads for Christmas

Well done Brett. England play Wales and that match is on BBC TV. Scotland play the England Knights team in a different competition.
I remember when .............................
"It is impossible not to feel a twinge of sympathy for Workington Town, the fall guys this season for the Super League's determination to retain it's European dimesion, in the shape of Paris. While the French have had every assistance to survive, the importance of having a flagship in a heartland area like West Cumbria has been conveniently forgotten." - Dave hadfield - Independent 25th Augsut 1996.

Difficult to find any news about the match. I think the final score was a win for England Knights 62 -24. Further information about the match would be welcome, especially about the possible injury to Brett Carter.
