Dewsbury Rams have further bolstered their halfback options for the 2013 season with the loan addition of Castleford Tigers halfback Ben Johnston.

Johnston, 20, made two Super League apperances for the Tigers in 2012 in matches against London and St Helens, and also has experience of the Championship following a spell last season with York City Knights.

Ben is a product of the Castleford Lock Lane amateur club and known for his creative skills.

He is highly thought of by the Tigers Academy staff and earned the club's Shooting Star award in 2010.

And the club's head of youth development Steve Gill believes Johnston has a bright future ahead of him.

"The loan spell will offer the opportunity for Ben to step up to regular first team rugby, which will no doubt enable him to further develop as a player," he said.

"We hope it won't be long before he is making his mark in Super League."

Johnston becomes the 23rd member of Glenn Morrison's 2012 squad and will be available to play for the Rams from February.
