Seems a bit harsh for failing to fulfil a fixture. Unless it was deliberate.

Sad day for Leigh East and indeed our town we have been proud to have two leading teams in the top flight .
And up to this debacle with the Skirlaugh incident East have promoted the club and town with distinction .
But EAST will be back .
Seems the knifes are out .

The knifes are out,??? their own fault, A vote of no confidence in the Chairman. YOU ain't seen nothing yet, wait until the Leigh East Head Coach goes before the disiplinary committee to answer his charge on his sending off and refusal to give his name to the referee at the end of the Skirlaugh game, oh and don,t forget they also had 2 other players sent off after the final whistle as well. What with Kilshaw's ban if they where struggling to send a team to Skirlaugh 2 weeks ago what will they do the first few games in Div 2 next year
But EAST will be back .
Seems the knifes are out .

I wouldn't know to be honest . It depends on how you gauge success . The recent ones are obvious but in my opinion it's the club that counts and we have teams at every age group and a women's team and a masters team so for me I would at how far these teams have developed . Take our women's team , they have been up and running for 4 years and won several trophies and player numbers are rising so a great success
Our u18s have been awesome over the last few years with national honours and will win many more in the next few years . The coaching pathway as been outstanding at east over the last 5 years and we are very proud of that .
The open age section have brought home many trophies in the last 6 years the pinnacle being the grand final , minor premiers and the European championship. The 2nd team major win was against bank quay 1st team in the national final . I suppose it's how you look at your club , we have took a battering in the last year through some bad decisions at the club . Leigh have took the punishment , regrouped as I expected and will come back strong because they have a good structure that can overcome a crisis and maintain the structure .
Leigh east have been their worst enemies of late , they are not a closed shop that sweeps things under the carpet , they are comfortable to debate there problems so as to create a constructive criticism forum to resolve the problems

No, just three. Leigh East were 3rd from bottom so were relegated anyway to Division 1. In order for them to be "punished" by relegation, they've been dropped to division 2. Top three from div 1 goes up, as normal - keeping the premier division with 14 teams.Does that mean 4 will go up from division 2?

All three were relegated (Heworth, Featherstone Lions and Crosfields) - but because Leigh East are being relegated (effectively) from their division 1 spot, it only leaves 13 in division 1 for next season.will the teams in div 2 that failed fixtures be relegated to div3? am sure there was a couple of sides that didnt fulfill their fixtures.
