Shame considering they have people lined up with millions to put in, wish we had that here - in fact maybe they could send some of the investors over! Like the idea of a logo used on all teams shirts, whether juniors, amateur or pro. We should do that here!

Doesn't the RFL now do the same thing with logos?

Do the QRL have a new logo as well then if the NSWRL do?
Yep. Seen it on FB but someone more talented than me will have to post it on here.

If they dilly about and miss the opportunity the ARL might beat then to some of the propspective expansion cities.
What is the reason given for the delay in expansion?

Garry Schofield had a word in their ears.
"Perhaps it would be better that future criticism of sports be made on the narrow basis of what is being discussed, without reference to other sports, unless those sports offer a solution to the problem in hand." - Brian 'Pigface' Moore
"What happens in rugby union? A player takes the ball, moves forward a little and gets tackled. A whole load of players then roll about on the ground. Pheep! The referee gives a penalty." - Simon Barnes

As an aside, does anyone know whether Nigel Wood's size is due to a medical condition or has he just eaten far too many pies? Saw a picture of him at the World Cup launch the other day, and couldn't help thinking how ironic it is that we have such an un-athletic looking boss of what is arguably the most athletic contact sport around.

All looks very impressive. How long until we see NRL Europe?
Tomorrow would do, as its probably too late to do it today. PLEASE!!!

Apparently the head of Channel 9 said during the TV contract talks that he felt that more games would add nothing to the contract. You could argue, that as he wouldn't want to pay any more than he has done, he would say that.
Also, many of the NRL clubs are still pleading poverty. The Titans has well publicised problems this year, which isnt fully resolved, and the Tigers are apparently in some problems as well. The ARLC wants to 'shore up' the existing clubs first.
At least they've got a nice new logo...

That seems reasonable. They've only postponed it 'till 2014 - not too far away.

A decision wouldnt come before 2014. Any new teams wouldn't enter until at least the next TV contract which would be in 2018.

Thank you for that information. I hope they don't miss out though. It's amazing how TV rules everything in the game, but that's the way it is these days.

Self-interest rules, as soon as the clubs take control.

The RFL use a lot of logos based on the same design but that's different to having a plan where same used throughout the game. I wouldn't have a clue what our leagues logo was last year, but would be great if we all had it on the shirts!

My point exactly. They will consider new teams in 2014 I assume for inclusion in 2018. That is about the right timetable.
