When I read about Rochdale's long tradition of recruiting Fijian players I always think of that great photo of Apesia Toga in the Eddie Waring Book Of Rugby League.

Rochdale Observer on Apesia Toga. Died tragically young, though. :(

"Perhaps it would be better that future criticism of sports be made on the narrow basis of what is being discussed, without reference to other sports, unless those sports offer a solution to the problem in hand." - Brian 'Pigface' Moore

"What happens in rugby union? A player takes the ball, moves forward a little and gets tackled. A whole load of players then roll about on the ground. Pheep! The referee gives a penalty." - Simon Barnes

Positive words from Rochdale there.

Any word on how Matt Calland is doing with the youth development?

That's the one!

extends into the amatuer ranks...great fun being smashed by a Figian in NWC Div 6 when they'd been in the Fiji World Cup training squad a year before!
In Bury or North Manchester? Interested in Rugby League? Check out the Rugby League in Bury web-site: http://www.pitchero....bs/burybroncos/
