Is the Barrow and District League any nearer making a decision on summer or winter ? If the change is going to happen a decision needs to be soon. Hope it happens ,dont think its working running 1st and 2nd teams at different times of the year.

Running 2 teams at the same time will result in loads of B&D games being cancelled. Look at the 1st few games already. Hindpool, Roose & Dalton are struggling to raise 2 teams and have cancelled games due to lack of numbers.
On the other side of the coin, you will end up with B&D teams possibly fielding a number of 1st teamers from the Summer Leagues which will cause arguments BUT will make the league stronger and more competitive.
Not an easy one to sort this one?

Tough one as if you just have first teams playing in winter you have to ask
1. Why have the league when the players have enough games in summer?
2. How would games go ahead in the overlap?
Another question is: is there still a requirement for NW Men's League sides to run a reserve team in the Barrow & District League or was that just a BARLA rule? Very few clubs of Hindpool's level run reserves for instance. Would be very sad to lose a historic league and would cause a nightmare trying to accomodate A teams of bigger clubs if the league weren't there though.

At walney the A team has been a good place to develop so good juniors coming through, i would not pick 1st teamers at their expence as you will end up loosing them, the sooner we are playing parrarel to the first team the better.
