Well what have we learnt

Zak is a great player and banana can't make room for him - wing for me instead of charnley/briscoe
Sinfield is a wonderful leader, kicker and deserves his place
Sam tomkins is 100% our best player, love watching him
Ellis - superb and can't wait to see his return super league
Lockers is our best 13
Chase no comment!!!
Hall our best winger and good enou for the NRL
Watkins has had a great series and all the other centres have to up their game to take his place (reed to get the other spot)
Props look good, but against a bigger pack how good are they?? Good job we've got graham and burgess's
Hock made some great breaks but too often a liability
MM - not good enough, good for Wigan but behind Danny houghton

On France, lack in fitness and I feel this is also Catalans problem.

I agree we should have seen more from Zak. Can't understand not playing him again. Not on ten wing though, it's a specialist position, and we have 3 crackers there. He has played centre though, so we could surely have seen him there.
Chase is ok. I agree not more needs be said.
Pleasantly surprised to see Lockers look so good at 13. Had him down as a 12 at this level.
Micky Mac may develop, and I'd say he's better than Houghton, but he's not in Roby/Burrow's class.
We look further on than last year, which is plenty reason to justify this tournament.
Hock is more risk than reward at this level.

Flippin eck. You and I not far out from agreeing.

Zak can play anywhere across the back IMHO

Good to see Myler was kicked out for this one. We need someone with a better attitude and a more team-oriented mentality, like Chase.

Get in......your predictable post has just won me £20!

Cheers
Now then, it's a race between Sandie....and Fairburn....and the little man is in........yeees he's in.

I, just like those Castleford supporters felt that the ball should have gone to David Plange but he put the bit betwen his teeth...and it was a try

Kevin Ward - best player I have ever seen

The real Mick Gledhill is what you see on here, a Bradford fan ........, but deep down knows that Bradford are just not good enough to challenge the likes of Leeds & St Helens.

You couldn't fault Chase today. He had a decent game. My objection to him is that after his foul on Ropati he should never be allowed on a Rugby field again.

I think that would be a very, very good development and I hope the RFL fund it, just as they funded England's needless jollies to South Africa. Not only would such tours bring on the Welsh team but it would provide enticement for Welsh players to up their game and be included in the national side. However, I do believe that if or until that happens, ie this side of the world cup (when it won't be happening!), the RFL needs to invest money in bringing the Welsh players up to the right fitness and skill levels in order to provide them with half a chance of looking competitive.

"did the time" a three match ban for an assault that would have landed him in jail had he not been on a football field? Graham got 12 matches for what was effectively an unproven charge. Chase should at least have had the same. The whole episode was a disgrace for RL and typical of the double standards where SL and Championship Rugby are concerned.

He didn't take many prisoners and he was fairly ruthless. I never saw him do to another player what Chase did to Ropati. In fact I'd go as far as to say it's one of the worst acts I've ever seen on a football field.

I absolutely agree. Yes, the French have got a long way to go but there's no lack of heart there so somehow, the score line just didn't seem to matter at all. I found it a great match to watch; was well impressed with the cohesion in the England side and delighted that France managed to put one over in the end.

Congratulations to both teams. The northern hemisphere is our home and northen hemisphere Rugby League is what we have to work on. France, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, - we need to be building them all up because the better they get the better it will be for a proper, fighting chance for `up here' to compete and regularly beat `down under'.

Not all of the time but a fair share of the time. And it can be done.

I can see it already.

Believe it!

Full back sorted (Tomkins), as well as cover (Hardaker).

Wings there's a bit of competition between the three, which is great. So we've got cover, but aren't sure who the best two are just yet.

Centres are a bit of a weak spot for me. I don't think Cudjoe is good enough, and Watkins and Reed are just the best of what's left. We used to be really strong here.

Halves are an issue. With Sinfield being captain, you'd guess that he's going to feature! I'd go with Widdop, but is he a 7? Chase and Myler in reserve. Plenty of options at least, but need to find the right combination for such an important position here.

Hooker will obviously be Roby. I think McIlorum is a liability personally. Houghton deserves a chance at this level to see how he goes. The issue then is would you want two similar players in Roby and Houghton, or a different style in Burrow coming off the bench?

Forwards we've got a bit of depth, but most of our best forwards are in the NRL now it seems! Graham and Sam obviously. See how the other Burgesses come on. Hill and Mossop looked OK. There's big Eorl also and Carvell/Morley if we need experience.
I thought Hock was a liability personally. As good as he is, there are players that can bring nearly as much as him but without the negative side to bring the team down. We don't need a player like that against the Aussies.

I agree 100%.

I really enjoyed todays match and after watching and enjoying the RU highlights the reaffirmation of the fact we have the best code flicked through my bones.

France and Wales can only improve with competion like this. Let's have more of them please.

What would be even better (but costly) is to play some of these teams BEFORE the WC if that were possible. The WC is so far off that Wales will have forgotten any lessons learned unless thy play together a good few times in the next 12 months.
