France have a real battle to get of pool stage with png, samoa, and kiwis in pool. samoa to have puleta boys, lautiti, tafua from manly, carmont and other blokes who miss kiwi team, i wonder if there any any imports in the french elite that could play for french that could make impact. Fiji is going to have a real good team, big petro to play as is lote from tigers along with the young flyer koroibete, the naiqama boys along with aston sims ans darryl millard from catalans.
well, Greenshields will be back at FB, fitness permitting and maybe Dureau will qualify next season and whatever happened to Dane Chisholm ?

Good points there. All the Pacific nations now turn up at WC with NRL players. There is no real French community I think in Australia as such unlike Greeks, Italian & Lebanese.
There are players in Australia and NZ with a background in French Pacific Islands (e.g. New Caledonia, French Polynesia/Tahiti, and perhaps Wallis and Futuna). Has France RL sought out players with such a background?
* Dimitri Pelo was capped for France by being born in Noumea.

* Dominique Peyroux (NZ Warriors and Cook Islands test centre) - Tahitian ancestry and would thus be eligible for France.
* Daniel Dumas (former Cronulla and France RL backrow) is still playing as captain/coach of Taree City Bulls in NSW Country Rugby League.
France Rugby Union's test team has capped several players in the last few years, either born or with ancestry in Pacific Islands:

Romain Taofifénua (New Caledonia) - Lock

Sébastien Vahaamahina (New Caledonia) - Lock

Christopher Tolofua (Wallis and Futuna) - Hooker

Jocelino Suta (Wallis and Futuna) - Lock
Yann David (Wallis and Futuna) - centre
Raphael Lakafia (Wallis and Futuna) - backrower
On the weekend, Wales RU team featured Tongan born backrower Toby Faletau, England RU featured Manusamoa Tuilagi, youngest brother of former Halifax/St Helens centre/backrower Feleti Tuilagi.
England now playing that card with Widdop and Reed plus residential with Chase. France have just had one note in the time Catalans in SL that being Greenshields in 4N of 2009. Will he, can he make himself available next year; his last chance of a WC. He's playing at N Queensland Cowboys in 2013.
Greenshields could make himself available. Brent Webb and Nathan Fien qualified for the Kiwis on residency, then represented after leaving NZ.
The other one people are talking about is Dureau. Is it 3 years or four for qualification?
The residency period for national team qualification is 3 years.
