The inaugural 2013 Manchester 9s Festival (M9s) will be held at Broughton Park FC between 17-19 May.

The 2013 Manchester 9s promises a fun carnival atmosphere for rugby league players and fans. Teams and spectators will be able to camp on site over the course of the festival, and with live bands, a busy trade village and colourful fancy dress, the M9s will be a must attend event for all amateur clubs, universities and 'guest' rugby league teams.

On the pitch, there will be three tournaments – Men’s Clubs Cup, the University Cup, and Men’s Social Cup. There will also be Rugby League Touch tournaments for both Men’s and Mixed. Festival Manager Jonny Cuddy says: “Rugby League 9s is a fast, enjoyable and sociable format of the game. The Manchester 9s will be a fun festival both on and off the pitch, with all playing standards encouraged and welcome to enter."

St Helens & England player Jon Wilkin is already looking forward to the festival: "The Manchester 9s will be a fun festival, with the excitement of the Rugby League tournaments tied in with a carnival atmosphere!"

The fun starts on Friday night, with live bands and DJs in the marquee, before the tournaments kick off on Saturday morning. The party continues into the night on Saturday with fancy dress and more live music in the marquee, before the final matches are played on Sunday.
