Between April 2010 and February 2011 the BBC bought 60,000 copies of the Guardian (FoI requests are fun), a newspaper which sells 220,000 copies a day. Or about 70million copies a year. Therefore we can work out that the BBC buys about 1 in every thousand Guardians.
In case you think that's a disproportionate amount because it's an institution stuffed with pinko commies, the BBC in the same period also bought 46,000 copies of the Mail, 49,000 copies of the Telegraph, 25,000 copies of the Express, 51,000 copies of the Times and 43,000 copies of the Sun.
Based on newspaper purchases therefore, the BBC is a cesspit of howling right wing lunatics.
