London Broncos announced today that following a successful sponsorship during the 2012 season the Club had extended its sponsorship agreement for a further two years with their Main Sponsor, Selco Builders Warehouse.

The new agreement will see London Broncos supporting the Selco business and branch network development plans whilst Selco will support the Club’s drive to increase supporter numbers at the Stoop for the coming season. This will be achieved through a close alignment of the two companies through joint marketing initiatives and promotions. An important part of the sponsorship is the high quality of the match day hospitality facilities and the match day experience at the Twickenham Stoop stadium in south west London.

Selco will have additional shirt branding and as part of this sponsorship, Siniat, the plaster board supplier to Selco, will also become a shirt sponsor with its logo featured on the back of players’ shirts for the two seasons. Gus Mackay, Chief Executive at London Broncos, said: “Today’s announcement marks a significant step forward for the club off the field and I’m delighted we have agreed a two year deal with Selco & Siniat. This partnership gives all parties a good opportunity to increase their brand profile across the UK. We very much welcome all the customers and employees to London Broncos over the next two years.

Chris Cunliffe, Selco’s managing director said: “Our initial involvement with the London Broncos at the end of the 2012 season proved to be very successful so it was an easy decision to continue the sponsorship for a further two years. The sport is a great vehicle to increase our brand awareness and we have enjoyed good brand exposure during our seven match sponsorship in the 2012 season. Rugby League has an obvious synergy with our business as it is very much focused on team work and being a team player. The sport from top to bottom has a great family feel, which we are now proud to be part of. We look forward to working with the club and the team on a number of initiatives and activities in the coming months.”

London Broncos also announced the launch of the season tickets for the 2013 season. A spokesman said the Club was confident that the strong finish to the previous season with the continued investment in the playing squad offers supporters the prospect of an exciting new season. With head coach, Tony Rea, committing himself for a further two years and with most of the senior players from 2012 remaining in the squad the Club can look forward to a period of stability and improved performances on the pitch.

I'm usually very critical of the club, but this is obviously very good news.

The jingle on the radio (or a few years ago) is "Give it a go at Selco. It's where the trade go."

The fact that it rhymes with Bronco is a happy coincidence

I'm just glad they've got something concrete lined up.
