"Perhaps it would be better that future criticism of sports be made on the narrow basis of what is being discussed, without reference to other sports, unless those sports offer a solution to the problem in hand." - Brian 'Pigface' Moore
"What happens in rugby union? A player takes the ball, moves forward a little and gets tackled. A whole load of players then roll about on the ground. Pheep! The referee gives a penalty." - Simon Barnes

London Broncos tweeted that ten secondary schools had just taken part in the Y9 East London Schools Championship and that there are 11 due to take part in the Y8 Championship. Apparently they are the highest numbers ever for this event.
It does sound like participation in London is on the rise, which won't please the cynics among RL fans (that would be quite a high number!). Pity the speccie numbers aren't growing by similar degrees.

It was a merger of City Poly and North London Poly as I understand.
I would say London Met is a budget uni and has a lot of foreign students. I studied a language there in an eve class for a couple of years in 2004-6. It seems to be growing in stature esp with tuition fees being high at the blue chip uni's.
This is a great move IMO. Exactly the sort of uni suited to RL
