The under 19's beat the Australian institute of sport 26to 10,
Good effort again, the under 18,s play them too this week,
What age group is the A.I.S ? The French teams age group is January to January so there's always a difference against the England team,

The game was played in salon de Provence, apparently 2000 spectators!

Well done to the French. No doubt there will be a flood of excuses from people on here!

The report on ourfootyteam.com said the referee penalised the Aussies out of it. Lol.

Yep, the other week we had 'kick Catalans out of Super League, it's been a waste of time because France haven't improved'.
Now it will be 'France have beaten Australia, now they're clearly strong enough to have their own Super League'.
Astute analysis from a Wigan fan:
Rumour going around Headingley that Wire will have to play the second half with 12 men.
It seems that they forgot to bring the half time oranges, and Solomona ate Chris Bridge instead.
Don't know why he was hungry, as he looked as though he had eaten the whole youth team before the game started.

The ref was Mr drizza who used to do the championship, funny that as the French teams complain that he speaks English all through the game when playing Anglo phone teams even to the French team,

Didn't England lose all their matches against the Institute of Sport when they came over earlier in the year?

You're on form tonight Browny!!!
The trick will be to find a way of transferring the competitiveness of the French at age limited rugby to open age. They clearly produce players of the right quality, but I guess it comes down to numbers. With the Aussie and even England u17s/18s/19s, behind every player in the team are another two or three players of similar quality waiting to take their place.
Maybe for the French, it's that they don't have the numbers, so when quality youths get injured, discover girls, or get lazy, they don't have other kids of similar ability to step in and replace them?

Maybe it's just that Catalans have only been in SL a few years and whilst they may have inspired some players to take up the game, they are not yet old enough to play open age.

They shouldn't break the rules then!

France have always produced quality juniors, they just never had the resources or systems in place to take them further in their development. That has changed with the Dragons coming into Superleague. Excellent result for the French.

A massive call considering the penalty count for the game was 10 France - 7 Australia... only a 3 penalty difference, not what one would call 'being penalised out of the game'.
A great result by the French, I hope their U/17's (or U/18's - I keep seeing different ages mentioned) can follow the U/19's and secure a positive result.

The best thing, following this victory, is that this young talent now has a career path in Rugby League, which wasn't there in the past.
In the past, many of those juniors would have been snapped up by RU.

Did you read "Maybe" and "may have" in the OP. The players might equally have been inspired by Avignon, Limoux, Carcasonne etc. You are just speculating.
