All the best Mike, I think it only right that you finish your career with your home town club.
I remember when .............................
"It is impossible not to feel a twinge of sympathy for Workington Town, the fall guys this season for the Super League's determination to retain it's European dimesion, in the shape of Paris. While the French have had every assistance to survive, the importance of having a flagship in a heartland area like West Cumbria has been conveniently forgotten." - Dave hadfield - Independent 25th Augsut 1996.

Good luck Mike, it will be a fitting end to a great career for the big man.
The race is not always to the swift nor the battle to the strong, but thats the way to bet!

As a Raiders fan i am totally underwhelmed by this signing. He has been signed to cover early season injuries to McGoff and Butler, but i dont believe he is good enough to play in the CC, and that he was only an average player at best in CC1. You guys sign ex super league props like Dowes, and we get a fat lazy local out of retirement !!

is Jamie butler any better? from what I've seen over the last season or 2, he was too slow and really struggled in the lower league. barrows props might struggle big time next season. the likes of toal and Harrison will take to it like ducks to water but I think your 2-3 props short. not having a dig but just an opinion.

I agree, was suprised when Butler was given a new deal, thought he would have retired. feel we're gonna struggle up front this year with only Dawson, Haggery, Brennan and McGoff as decent front rowers !

Really thought Mike would retire. Been a very good player for Barra in the past and a reliable one for us, but Championship rugby next year -get real
