Why don't we just wait for an announcement rather than slating any deal that might have been made already...?

Because that is not how RL 'supporters' are wired.

Well at least when it comes to negotiating a new sponsor, the numbers those selling it have to work with are far stronger at the end of 2012 than in 2011.

- TV audiences up 45%
- Combined TV audiences over 25 million
- Average attendances broke the 10K mark for the first time
- Best aggregate attendances ever for a Super League season

If we had a betting company prepared to offer over 2.5 million pounds last year, they should be able to at least equal that again this time.

I agree. The plan will provide for the best atmosphere and "tv image" for whatever crowd we get. If the stadium is only half full, people will be sat together in the seats that will be most visible on telly, rather than scattered all over the stadium.

Good idea in theory, as long as all the tickets being sold aren't the ones under the camera...

Tickets being sold on the website for the semi's and final are lower tier all around the ground so you can pick the block you want, with the exception of club Wembley of course

Why? I don't understand it at all. Seeing as Gillette sponsor all Internationals in the UK, why can't the RFL convince them to sponsor the top domestic comp?

Miller Genuine Draft Super League?...

One of the worst beers in the world! How about Timothy Taylor's Landlord or to help spread the word ,Fuller's London Pride?

Although Gillette would be good.

My word! You just named two equally bad brews! What next, Boddingtons?

I only went with Miller as they're huge as are Heiniken and Budweister (US) but Heiniken has associated itself to RU and Bud have associated themselves to footy.

Hows about Black Sheep Brewery, Yorkshire Tea, or Marstons?... :D

We need to get a huge multi-national onboard. Yeah, I'm a lefty but sadly we need a big money deal to keep up with the world around us.

Sadly the wonders of Bombadier are the joys or the England and Wales Cricket Board, (sigh)

The betting company offered around 600/700K less agents commission of 10/15%

I'm all for sponsorship, but if this company make an offer, maybe not.

Black Sheep Super League would be a good play on the origins and image of TGG

All the SL clubs (Bar 1/2 or didnt show) were at a meeting at Salford on Tuesday, so far no sponsors for SL CC or RLWC 2013 however talks are going on with a couple of potential sponsors which will be resumed in the new year.

If an inferior product like the Rugby Union Premiership can get a good sponsor, RL should have no problems!

The biggest problem with Rugby League isn't the RFL, its the 'fans' and all their negative BS and verbally abusing anyone who doesn't support their team.

Agreed, companies don't want to get bad mouthed in forums like this.
