"It is impossible not to feel a twinge of sympathy for Workington Town, the fall guys this season for the Super League's determination to retain it's European dimesion, in the shape of Paris. While the French have had every assistance to survive, the importance of having a flagship in a heartland area like West Cumbria has been conveniently forgotten." - Dave hadfield - Independent 25th Augsut 1996.

Cheers Keith, they might not ban me now.I am just waiting for Mark(fryer) to give me a dressing down for being a bad lad,go easy Mark, i might have a heart attack and miss the blue and white defeating the other ###### on the new derwent park.Just read Adam's twitter and he definitely says he's signed for Town and it looks like another great signing by the board. Our pack for next season is certainly looking very strong. Welcome back to Town Adam.

annakin has already signed for someone on loan. i think its dewsburyShowed up well for Salford v Wigan and is definitely a SL squad prop . Top top signing , could easy argue he's our top starting prop ... Great if they could weedle Annakin back to play at the back of this pack !

yeah they're conceeding we are assembling a good pack but then mock our backs and call them average. we do need some halves i suppose. its funny how one off them is saying they have signed "internationals" lol. Also seems the jampot fans are also relying a lot on the saints link to come up trumps. gulible is'nt in it lol.Looks like the deluded ones are starting to get worried. Town are signing the best of the local talent and some good youngsters that have been on the fringes of Superleague, whereas Haven are busy signing journeymen from out of the county that will only be signing for the cash.

i think barrow should be more worried than anybody. imagine a front row battle between butler and whitehead vs thackeray and dowes. lets be honest were not going to beat the top 4-6 teams. but we should be aiming to beat the rest especially up here. our packs looking tasty, we need to add backs now and i would still like to see a specialist loose forward come in. if we cant get a good ball playing one then a proper work horse would do.
Hope you are wrong Wonks mate but unfortunately for us I think you are right. If Mike plays regularly we are in big trouble
