On 13/2/2013, Hull City's owners the Allams, released a statement in their position as the owners of the KC Stadium Management Committee. One line in this statement read as follows....

Question to the hull fans..... Who was the last player at Hull to play for ten years??
As OF mentioned - Kirk Yeamen & Richard Horne - both born n bred in Hull, not Oldham ;-)

Kirk Yeaman is currently enjoying his testimonial this year.
Does that answer your question, or would you rather it was somebody from ages ago, which would probably better suit your agenda.
As OF mentioned - Kirk Yeamen & Richard Horne - both born n bred in Hull, not Oldham ;-)

Thanks OF, so I get why you don't see the need to celebrate Sinfield
Royboy, doesn't matter where a player is born, it's what a player does for the club.
Cooke has done more for hull, than yeaman or Horne ( I know it's a sore subject for one FC fan, so not meant to cause trouble)

I'm perfectly happy for Leeds to celebrate Sinfield's achievements, I just think naming a day after him, even as a marketing ploy, is a bit daft esp. when they put "Sir" in front of it.Thanks OF, so I get why you don't see the need to celebrate Sinfield

As for your suggestion that Cooke has done more for Hull than Yeaman or Horne, you're avin a larf. He may have been more important whilst he was here but the manner of his departure did a huge amount of damage to the club. Yeaman and Horne both received testimonials for their loyalty.
Cooke doesnt know what the word means.

Sir is his nickname among the fans, having a laugh because of his so called socialist leanings, but wouldnt it be better if all our top star's had national recognition?just think if they did some of them may not go over to RU

I like Sinfield, but it makes me cringe a bit this "Sir" nickname, along with "WBW" and the now thankfully redundant "Brent Webb is Superman". Probably typical Bradford fan, but that doesn't bother me, I like Leeds as a club and team, just bin Bailey!Sir is his nickname among the fans, having a laugh because of his so called socialist leanings, but wouldnt it be better if all our top star's had national recognition?just think if they did some of them may not go over to RU
Anyway, Sainthood out does Knighthood and today is St Andrew's Day, so all hail me.

The appearance of hindlexiii in a kilt is a rather disturbing image.

The biggest one that always made me cringe was the Saints fans calling Tommy Martyn 'Tommy God'. I'm still not sure if I'm missing something or if it genuinely didn't make sense.I like Sinfield, but it makes me cringe a bit this "Sir" nickname, along with "WBW" and the now thankfully redundant "Brent Webb is Superman". Ha. I'd not heard that one. Yikes. To a lesser extent and without taking the thread off-topic the first name only reference of 'Sam' for Tomkins in a non-Wigan and/or broad context gets on my goat a little. Anyhoo, if anything else in this whole marketing ploy I learneded 3/12 was also the day Skatman John passed away back in 1999, and I love The Skatman song. The biggest one that always made me cringe was the Saints fans calling Tommy Martyn 'Tommy God'. I never heard them call him that, but would it have anything to do with the time he kicked a stray ball (not the one being played with at the time) in to the middle of the pitch as Leeds were putting pressure on the Saints line, therfors stopping play while it was removed and giving saints players a breather? After the game he claims it was "the foot of god" that put the ball there and nothing to do with him (Said with a cheeky grin!)

As an older fan I still remember the days when we hadn't won the title many times, but won the CC most.Yes it hurts losing all those CC finalsCan someone at Warrington please take a picture lifting the Cup with a Sinfield mask on.
They call Tompkins Sam ,and Richards Pat as if they are on personal terms with both players.Well I have heard everyone knows everyone in WiganHa. I'd not heard that one. Yikes.
