Is it me or does O'Loughlin always seem to be injured when the big international games come around?

I thought the same. Missed 2008, 2009 & 2011 series through injury, but made it in 2010 & 2012.

Back on to the organisation of the tournament, things have really slowed down on the announcements on partners etc.

So far we don't have a single sponsor who is not a supplier or government partner. This is a worry, not a single company so far has publicly committed to our World Cup - not even any of our current game sponsors on either side of the world.

With 7 weeks to go I'd have expected announcements a good while ago.

Weren't there rumours of sponsors being interested but being delayed due to lack of tv deals.

On that front, where are all the TV deals for France, Europe, Middle East, Africa, USA etc?

I was thinking the same thing earlier, would love to know the TV schedule which doesn't just include England games.

A game in Ireland and at Workington on the box would be great as won't be able to make them personally.

JUST GIVE US SOME GOOD NEWS!!!

Got tickets for a few games but it looks like I won't even be able to go to those now. Perhaps the Eng-Ireland game in Huddersfield.

No I don't care if you're if you're into different bands

No cause for so much hatred, I'm just a different man

Pull off that cover, I will too, and learn to understand

No you can add NZ to that list:

Press Release:

Rugby League fans will get to watch the Kiwis as they attempt to defend the Rugby League World Cup with SKY Sport screening LIVE coverage of every match of the tournament.

SKY has extensive wall-to-wall coverage of the highly-anticipated event, including LIVE coverage of all matches, including all knockout games, as well as replays and highlights.

“There will be a lot of interest in the Kiwis defense of the Rugby League World Cup, especially as the NRL season will be wrapped up for the year, so it’s great SKY subscribers will be able to follow New Zealand as they seek to become back-to-back rugby league world champions,” said Richard Last, SKY’s Director of Sport.

Nigel Wood, RLWC2013 Tournament Director, said: “It is great news for the tournament that SKY Sport will be showing every game. Sports fans in New Zealand know they can rely on SKY’s experience of covering not just domestic and international rugby league but other world class sporting events too.

“We know we’ll be staging the best Rugby League World Cup to date, with competitive matches in front of passionate fans. The tournament now has a compelling broadcast offer in the home of the current world champions,” said Nigel Wood.

The 2013 Rugby League World Cup, which is held in England and Wales, will be the 14thworld cup and will include matches at iconic football stadiums Wembley Stadium and Old Trafford.

New Zealand won the 2008 Rugby League World Cup, beating Australia 34-20 in the final.

SKY Sport acquired the rights to the Rugby League World Cup from IMG Media, a division of IMG Worldwide, the global sports, fashion and media company.

Great result for NZ with the TV coverage.

The 2008 WC had extensive global TV coverage so you'd hope that they would be able to repeat that this time.

Interesting stuff coming through on Twitter following RLWC2013 briefing today. Lower bowl at Cardiff virtually sold out. 40k sold for final. More tickets sold outside traditional areas than in. Turnover will exceed £15m & financial objectives will be met. Fans in traditional areas advised to get their skates on!
