Ive been watching the game for about the last 30 years, so Ive complied these lists taking 1980 as the cut-off point. Can you help with these lists? I suspect the last list could be much longer...

If you're being strictly accurate then Gloucester should be Cheltenham.

Sheffield Eagles have played in Chesterfield (once) and NE Derbyshire (once)
North Derbyshire Chargers - join the stampede

Raising money for Prostate Cancer UK - ran the Spire 10 mile in August and the Worksop Half Marathon in October - more to come in 2013

I'll add Northampton and Bolton to the list. Vague memories of Ebbw Vale hosting a match, but I'm not sure on that one.

When was pro' RL played at Galashiels, Newcastle, Darlington and South Shields post 1980? Where they all Gateshead games?

I thought they played out of Cardiff, but you're right, they played a few games at Aberavon when they started out.

Just to be clear, however you define "the old RL heartlands" Sheffield will always be outside of them.

You could possibly also consider Doncaster not to be "old" as the professional game only began there in the 1950s.

And you have missed Leyton for the Broncos.

Yeah, Im not going outside mainland Britain. And I think Wigan counts more or less as heartlands. Is there a place called Kingstonian?
