What stuctures?Funny how the council cant afford to repair historically significant structures but can throw money at those Maggots.
I feel a letter to my MP coming on.

If true, its a tragic unfolding series of events. We could yet end up with the council tax payers of the City of Salford underwriting a new home for the sole use of Sale Sharks RUFC, whilst Swinton Lions remain exiled and Salford Reds are economically undermined - all catalysed by gross incompetence of the civic leadership. Absolutely appauling.
Interesting comments from Ian Stewart regarding his support for the concept of Supporters Trusts. While he may have had some previous dealings with Forever Reds, I wager his only previous direct exposure to a bone fide Supporters Trust will have been to the Swinton Supporters Trust during M27SCP. If £750k of Council funds had been devoted to that genuinely community-led project it would've made a massive difference, let alone the £20m+ that's already been poured into Barton.
So this would be a prime opportunity to challenge Ian Stewart to deliver what it says on the tin, in the event John Kidd firslty delivers on his commitment to honour the shareholding of the Swinton Supporters Trust in the new company and reinstate the Trust's position on the board. Such a move would not only enhance the chances of a new ground at Agecroft becoming a reality, but securing increased involvement of the community is the best way to ensure what's built is economically sustainable into the future.
Lessons should be learned from the debacle of Salford City Stadium.

Even Neil Barker can't be this wide of the mark Phil.We will have to wait and see whether this is another chapter in Neil Barker's "track record" for accuracy:

Possibly Shizonamy, but it could also work the other way with them looking to treat the two clubs equally.......well after all it is nearly Xmas and you have to make a wish.If any of our funding for the new stadium was Council backing dependent do you all think this could tantamount to us not getting the green light?

But perhaps Jennifer Williams (who penned the article) can be? There certainly must be some big problems, given how long the takeover has dragged on for and no deal yet announced with time running out.
We will have to wait and see.

Would that be the same Maurice Lindsay that wanted to force Salford, Oldham, Swinton and Rochdale to merge and play under the Manchester banner when Super League was first created?
Would that be the same Maurice Lindsay that morgaged the future of Wigan on getting to the Challenge Cup Final every season, but saw the empire crumble when Salford beat them resulting in bankrupcy and the forced sale of Central Park?
Would that be the same Maurice Lindsay that was recently a complete failure at Preston North End, taking them to relegation?
Do me a favour!!!
