Any country were it is the right of citizens to have the means legally to have at their disposal enough weaponry to wipe out a class of school kids without trying hard to get the slaying tools is sick from top to bottom.

America is not a civilised country, they have had centuries to prove it and have continually failed,
I can't agree but can see where you are coming from. I have been to the states many times and as people they are some of the friendliest people I have met. In fact the political state of the USA (gun laws, health, etc) always appear to be at odds to the people I have met (I didn't ask for people political views but they can't all of been democratic!).

Yes I get that impression too.I think the real right wingers with the Charlton Heston love of guns ,cold dead hand etc and no socialised healthcare must only spout this stuff on the internetI can't agree but can see where you are coming from. As for the rest, well its up to them. I often wonder when I'm over there who might be wandering around with a pistol in their coat.
The deaths of these poor kids and their amazing teachers will do little to change things in my opinion. It's ingrained in the psyche and Americans are remarkably conservative - even many who vote democrat.

I've long since given up worrying about what Americans do with guns. The only American I know who actively owns one uses it/them for hunting. Proper hunting stalking deer by hiding in trees for hours etc.) and he eats everything he kills. I would trust him with those guns wherever he lived, and he would get a license for sure, even over here.
And what if your friend for some reason lost the plot?
He now has a gun. The outcome could be just about the same as this type of thing.
